Testimonial #13

“I have, and know of several friends who have made use of the student advisory team. They helped me immensely in my first year when I was struggling to cope with the demands of exams and coursework with personal problems I had going on in the background. I don't think the student body can cope with 11 of the 16 being axed. The result would be more students dropping out who wouldn't otherwise if they had access to the support provided by these advisors. Adjusting to University life can be difficult enough, and it doesn't take much for one to fall behind without adequate support. It is important from a human perspective but also the result concerning the powers of the University would be a drop in income from these lost students, which will only perpetuate the bad financial circumstances. Considering the high fees students have to pay to the University it is unacceptable that such a necessary service to their welfare is being cut, it would be much less damaging to cut a few thousand off the excessive salaries of the Universities management.”
