Testimonial #2
"I've been at Sussex throughout my degree and my PhD. During that time I've been to see a student advisor on many occasions. It is absolutely certain to say that if it was not for her I wouldn't be at Sussex and I would never have achieved a 1st class degree and probably not a degree at all. She helped me move accommodation when I wasn't getting along with someone I lived with. She got me help when I was feeling depressed. She's sorted out funding issues more times than I can count. She's scored me emergency funds when I needed them. She helped me get a dyslexia test when I was struggling with certain aspects of learning. She has even helped me look for work when I've needed it. She is nothing short of amazing and I would not be where I am without her support, there are many like her, they are those who are the glue between us and the university, they are those who are willing to take on the problems that no one else wants. They are those who care about each of us when the going gets tough. More than that they are friends to each of us and I can say with complete confidence that without them many of us would not have achieved our degrees, they are completely essential to the life of the university and making them redundant is a completely false economy. For if we lose our support then many more of us will have no one to go to and will quit. If we quit then the university doesn't get paid."
